Saudi embassy rubbishes report Qatari pilgrims not allowed to perform Hajj, Umrah

ISLAMABAD:

In a statement, the Saudi embassy spokesman said since the first day the kingdom decided to sever diplomatic and consular relations with Qatar, confirmed its consideration towards the Qatari brothers and facilitation of their performance of the rituals easily according to the mechanisms organised by the competent authorises.
This, it added, has been done despite the negative attitude of the Qatari authorities and their continued intransigence towards not enabling their citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah.
Some of the media outlets in Pakistan have misreported the whole issue and wrongly wrote that Qatar citizens are not allowed to perform rituals, the communiqué added.
The fact of the matter is that Qatari people are free to come to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj or Umrah, it further clarified.
Since the issuance of the statement of the Ministry of Hajj and Umra, Saudi Arabia has received a number of Qatari pilgrims who arrived at King Abdul Aziz International Airport and provided them with all services to facilitate their performances of the rituals, like other Muslims from all over the world.
The statement also called upon the Pakistani media to investigate the accuracy and credibility of news before publication so that it does not become part of the malicious propaganda promoted by Qatari authorities against the kingdom.

From Karachi to Moscow: Living the World Cup dream

The time had finally come to make my way to Moscow to watch the FIFA World Cup. I had been watching the first eight days of the tournament on television at my home in Karachi. But now, it was time to make my dream come true: I was travelling to Moscow to watch the matches live, the tickets for which I had bought eight months ago. Essentials for travelling to this World Cup are your fan ID, match tickets, passport, $1,000 and personal belongings. Yes, it’s as simple as this. The fan ID is your visa to Russia. To get a fan ID you must buy a match ticket from fifa.com and then go to fan-id.rus to apply for it. The fan ID requirements are a clear passport-sized photo, a valid passport and match tickets. You can print your fan ID from the email they will send. Although the tickets to this World Cup are expensive compared to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, there are many free amenities for match goers. I will elaborate on them later. My flight from Karachi to Moscow was via Fly Dubai....
